“An education capable of saving humanity is no small undertaking; it involves the spiritual development of man, the enhancement of his value as an individual, and the preparation of young people to understand the times in which they live.” – Maria Montessori
Dear Families & Friends,
Remarkable things are happening at South Loop Montessori School. They have been going on since we opened our doors in 2012 — and recently, exciting new developments are happening within our community that will help us to continue delivering the highest standard of Montessori education in the Chicagoland area.
First, we’re eager to tell you about our expanding facility in the heart of the South Loop. It’s not simply more space, but a complete transformation of our campus that began in 2016. Renovating an additional 15,000 sq ft of raw space provides our families with nine newly constructed, state-of-the-art classrooms that are fully equipped with child-sized features, an expansive indoor large motor room, and a truly incredible environment in which children will cognitively, physically, and socially develop to the fullest potential.
Our current, adjacent classrooms also experienced a complete remodel, modernizing every inch of our facility that opens to a new, private outdoor Montessori playground — an important aspect of the Montessori experience.
In fact, our entire campus transformation embraces the philosophy put forth by Dr. Maria Montessori and we believe with consistent, authentic methodology, we can cultivate a meaningful and rewarding school experience for your child.
The heart of learning at South Loop Montessori School thrives in these orderly and beautiful classroom environments, and we’re thrilled to continue to open new doors for more students and expand our wonderful community. As such, we are also excited to announce that our faculty of AMS / AMI Montessori Certified educators is also increasing.
New lead teachers, assistants, and classroom aids bring tremendous experience and expertise to our faculty, and ensure we maintain excellent student to teacher ratios across all programs. Additionally, in effort to increase access and direct communication with school leadership, we are creating positions and appointing more administrators to enrich our community and help ensure parents, faculty and staff model ethical stewardship that promotes an empathic and compassionate outlook.
Together, we will carry out our philosophy which is rooted in the Montessori Method. It’s our way of life and we encourage everyone to learn more about the philosophy and its accompanying methodology that provides the necessary ingredients that meet and exceed academic, social, emotional, spiritual, and academic challenges of early childhood.
Please explore our website, including our resources and news page for useful information on Montessori education. I also invite you to come experience our educational and nurturing environments by allowing us to give you a personal tour at our school. We are always open to educators and prospective families who would like to come and see us in action. If you have any questions or need additional information, we would love to hear from you.
On behalf of the world-class educators, staff and faculty of the South Loop Montessori School, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to our community.
